The web provides a very unique opportunity for the interconnecting of researchers and their work into an evolving online "community" of scholarship. However, that scholarship will NOT thrive if people are not given credit fortheir work and ideas. Researchers will just stop publishing their work online and will revert to the traditional publishing methods.

Legitimation for the liability of 'links'
The judgement of the law-court in Hamburg 1998-05-1212 (312 O 85/98) said, that you could hold responsible, if you place a 'link' to a website into your own homepage. This resonsibility only could be avoided, if you explicitely keep your distance from the content of the 'link'.
