Abstract:
The promotion of methodological competence (‘Learning to Learn’) is an increasingly important task in educational institutions. Not only German educational standards and curricula, but also the daily educational practice in particular show that it is worthwhile to work consciously on this complex in school.
The content of this book offers an option of how ‘Learning to Learn’ can be realized in Primary School. The described model can nevertheless be transfered to a Secondary School system. With that an implementation across-the-board, that means operated commonly through all grades and schools, is introduced in class. Also, the explained contents and methods concerning ‘Learning to Learn’ can be realized individually by single teachers in his or her class.
In addition to the theoretical basics and the detailed school-practical suggestions displayed in the book, a film is provided on an included DVD which serves for introduction and exemplification of the written material. Furthermore, the DVD contains a folder of materials, in which lesson-layouts and other material (such as letters to parents or workshop-sequences) are saved. These materials have been proven and tested multiple times and are suitable for direct implementation in school.
